WHAT IS IT?
Snapchat is an app that allows you to take a picture (with or without filters) and message the people without giving them your cellphone contact information. Snapchat allows you to choose how long you want the recipient to look at the photo. Photo times range from 1 second- infinity. Snapchat has a new feature called "stories" which last exactly 24 hours. This allows you to post pictures/ videos on your profile for all your followers to see, similar to Instagram.
WHEN DID IT BEGIN?
Snapchat was launched in July 2011 by Evan Spigel, Bobby Murphy and Reggie Brown. They all graduated from Stanford University.
